We created the skirt in different fabric combinations to offer very exclusive pieces.
This skirt is inspired by the traditional "Ghagra", an indian traditonal skirt.

The Anushree skirt combines a flattering modern look with timeless elegance. Designed to suit all body types, the skirt falls between the ankle and feet, depending on height. The top part features long drawstrings with locally sourced cotton tassels and coconut beats. Adjustable ties and a natural organic cotton elastic at the waist ensure a perfect fit.

Every piece is crafted from 100% indigenous Kala or Kadhi cotton, this skirt is exceptionally gentle on the skin and highly breathable. The fabric features intricate details, and the fabric is naturally dyed using extracts from "Tumeric". Indigenous Kala cotton and Kadhi cotton are cultivated without harmful chemicals or fertilizers, promoting healthy soil and well-being.
Each fabric tells a unique story, handspun and handwoven by artisans in India. The fabric may exhibit small weaving imperfections, which contribute to its unique story and reflect the craftsmanship of the weaver.

Our garments are stitched in Delhi by a small family business dedicated to creating high-quality garments in small quantities.

Care

To ensure the longevity and care of your 100% Cotton ESSENSE garment, we recommend the following instructions:

Washing:

Preferably wash by hand in cold water without soaking.
If using a machine, select a delicate 20°C or 30°C wash cycle and place the garment in a wash bag for delicates.
Use only pH natural soap.
For best results, wash separately from other garments.

Drying:

Air dry only.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

Ironing:

Iron on a 'cotton' setting, inside out, at low to medium heat.

Before Use:

Always wash your garment before the first use.

Additionally, transport costs from India to Luxembourg are currently very high due to geopolitical circumstances, such as ongoing global trade disruptions and increased fuel prices, which further impacts our pricing structure.

The Story Behind the Name: Why It's Called the Anushree Skirt

Each piece in this collection is named after individuals who have profoundly inspired me on my journey, shaping my vision and decisions.

Anushree, a baby I met during my first trip to India, left a lasting impact on my heart. I visited a village at the border of Bangladesh and India, in West Bengal, where the community specialized in weaving cotton and silk.

Anushree's purity and vulnerability reflected unity with the world. Her mother’s care, despite their poverty, embodied happiness and simplicity. This spirit inspired our collection, combining simplicity with beauty, femininity, and purity. This simplicity is reflected in our garments, promoting a holistic sense of well-being.

With heartfelt gratitude, we honor Anushree's inspiration and the impact she and her community have on Akash Essense. 🖤
