Care Guide

Wear. Care. Cherish.

A little care, a longer story.

Natural fibres and skilled hands give each Essense piece its character. A gentle approach helps you enjoy that character for years to come.

Always follow the care label and the advice on your product page first. These guidelines are a starting point; fabrics, dyes and decorative details can need different care.

Wool jumpers, cardigans & scarves
  • Air your knitwear between wears and wash only when needed.
  • Hand wash gently in cool water, using a mild, pH-neutral soap suitable for wool. Avoid rubbing, twisting and sudden changes in water temperature.
  • Gently press out water without wringing. Reshape and dry flat in the shade. Do not tumble dry.
  • Store folded rather than hanging to help preserve the shape.

Cotton dresses, blouses & skirts
  • Prefer a cold hand wash without soaking. Wash separately, especially when new.
  • Where the care label allows machine washing, choose a delicate 20–30°C cycle and use a delicates wash bag.
  • Use a mild, pH-neutral soap. Air dry away from direct sunlight; do not tumble dry.
  • Iron inside out on low to medium heat, following the garment’s care label. Take extra care around embroidery, ties and tassels.

Natural dyes, embroidery & tassels

Handle these details gently. Avoid prolonged soaking, harsh stain removers and direct sunlight when drying. Do not pull loose threads or brush tassels roughly. If you are unsure how to treat a mark, contact us before washing.

Jute & upcycled cotton bags

Keep your bag dry and avoid overfilling it. Brush away loose dust gently. For a small mark, try a barely damp, soft cloth on an inconspicuous area first, then let it dry naturally. Avoid soaking, machine washing and tumble drying. For a persistent stain, ask us for advice specific to your bag.

Silver, gold-plated silver & gemstones

Put jewellery on after lotions and perfume. Remove it before swimming, showering, exercise and household cleaning. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and store each piece separately in a dry place. Avoid abrasive polishing on gold plating and do not soak gemstones in cleaning solutions.
